1. Finding a Horse

Our journey begins with identifying horses that require a second chance. We consider several critical factors:

• Reason for Rehoming: We seek to understand why a horse is being surrendered, whether due to changes in circumstances, financial constraints, or other challenges.

• Health Concerns: Any existing health issues are thoroughly assessed to ensure appropriate care and treatment.

• Behavioral Issues: We examine any behavioral challenges that may have contributed to the need for rehoming, focusing on understanding their history and needs.

• Neglect or Abuse: We are committed to rescuing horses that have faced neglect or abuse, providing them a safe and nurturing environment to heal.

• Confidentiality: We honor the confidentiality of those who surrender or donate to our organization, ensuring that every decision is made with the best intentions for the horse’s future.

2. Getting the Horse

Once a horse has been identified, we move forward with the logistics of rescue:

• Pick-Up: Our team coordinates the safe transport of the horse from their current location.

• Drop-Off: Upon arrival at our ranch, the horse is welcomed into a secure and caring environment where they can begin their rehabilitation journey.

3. Evaluation

A thorough evaluation is essential to understand each horse’s unique needs:

• We assess the horse’s legs, back, teeth, conformation, gait, and behavior. This includes determining their level of training (e.g., whether they are halter broke, handled, or ridden).

4. Providing Services

Based on our evaluation, we provide a range of essential services to support the horse’s recovery:

• General Veterinary Evaluation: ($80) A comprehensive health check to identify any medical needs.

• Farrier Services: Regular hoof care to ensure the horse’s comfort and mobility.

• Training Programs: Tailored training sessions to address specific needs and enhance the horse’s skills.

• Board & Feed: High-quality nutrition and comfortable living conditions.

• Pasture Access: Safe and spacious areas for exercise and socialization.

5. Bonding and Building Trust

Establishing a trusting relationship with each horse is vital:

• Positive Exposure: We facilitate positive interactions with people to build trust.

• Handling: Regular handling helps horses acclimate to human interaction in a safe and supportive manner.

6. Training

Our training process includes a comprehensive program designed to prepare each horse for a successful transition to a forever home:

• Halter Training: Teaching the horse to accept a halter and be led.

• Saddle and Bridle Training: Introducing the horse to saddle and bridle work.
