At Haven Equestrian Outreach, we believe that every horse deserves a loving forever home. If you’re ready to welcome a horse into your life, you’re in the right place! Our adoption process is designed to match you with a horse that fits your lifestyle, ensuring a successful and happy partnership.

Why Adopt?

  • Make a Difference: By adopting a horse from our rescue, you’re giving a second chance to an animal in need.

  • Companionship: Horses offer incredible companionship and joy, enriching your life in countless ways.

  • Support Our Mission: Your adoption fee helps fund our ongoing rescue and rehabilitation efforts, allowing us to save more horses in need.

Adoption Process

  1. Browse Available Horses: Explore our current horses up for adoption. Each listing includes a photo and a detailed description of the horse’s background, personality, and needs.

  2. Application: Once you find a horse you’re interested in, fill out our adoption application. This helps us understand your experience and what you’re looking for in a horse.

  3. Meet and Greet: After reviewing your application, we’ll schedule a time for you to meet the horse. This is a crucial step to ensure that the horse is a good fit for you and your lifestyle.

  4. Home Check: We may conduct a home visit to assess your facilities and ensure a safe and suitable environment for the horse.

  5. Adoption Agreement: If everything aligns, you’ll sign an adoption agreement, outlining your commitment to the horse’s care and well-being.

  6. Follow-Up: We will check in with you periodically to see how you and your new friend are adjusting.

Preparing for Adoption

Before adopting, consider the following:

  • Time Commitment: Horses require daily care, exercise, and companionship. Make sure you’re ready for this commitment.

  • Financial Responsibility: Owning a horse involves costs such as feed, veterinary care, and equipment.

  • Space and Resources: Ensure you have the proper facilities for a horse, including shelter, pasture, and safe fencing.
